The HR Manager is responsible for providing broad-based Human Resources support in the areas of staffing, employee relations, compensation, benefits, learning and development and human resource policies and procedures. This role also provides HR consulting on a variety of matters including organization structure, development and effectiveness.
Specifically, this position will be responsible for the following:
- Manage all recruitment efforts for professional and support staff positions. Work closely with management to define position requirements and recruitment sources. Coordinate and be actively involved in the interviewing and hiring processes. Act as a liaison with placement agencies and other recruitment sources and conduct direct sourcing when possible. Deliver new hire orientation and assist the manager in resolving any issues regarding the integration of a new employee. Handle all immigration compliance and relocation arrangements, as needed.
- Make recommendations to the Board concerning compensation structures, including analysis of benchmarking data, internal equity review, and working with President and Board around creating a transparent program, etc.
- Make recommendations to the Board concerning employee benefits, including health and other insurance programs, and periodically evaluate the firm's current benefits offering.
- Develop and provide employee education, information and communication concerning benefits, including but not limited to health, life and disability insurance and 401(k) plan benefits.
- Provide periodic manager training and assist managers with the development and review of job descriptions, employee goals and measures, and implementation and documentation of performance reviews.
- Develop and implement employee training and development programs.
- Provide employee relations support, including handling employee relations issues, performance management issues, and, as appropriate, conducting employee investigations. Manage all terminations, both voluntary and involuntary.
- Liaise with OMAM to leverage "best practices" relating to benefits programs, performance management, learning and development, etc.
- Manage Human Resources policies, processes, and procedures (i.e. recruitment literature, employee handbook, HR intranet, etc.). Consult with managers to interpret and implement outcomes of decisions relating to HR policies, procedures, practices, and processes. Develop new policies and enhance existing HR infrastructure as appropriate for Board approval. Advise and make recommendations to the Board regarding policies and issue resolution.
- Work closely with the Legal Department to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations/laws in the development and implementation of human resource policies and otherwise. Manage all issues relating to FLSA, employee files, changes in employment laws, etc.
- Manage the employee communication and recognition programs.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Must be technically competent and able to work independently in the following systems:
- MS Word

- Any other systems or programs that may be deemed necessary

- BS degree
- A minimum 10 years experience with a proven track record in HR
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong consulting skills
- Highly organized
- Should be able to make presentations before large groups
- This position requires a minimum of 40 hours a week (minimum eight hours a day) and is exempt for purposes of calculating overtime pay. Regular attendance and punctuality are required.
The position reports directly to the President.
